During the 25-27th January our Cabrini residents took part in the world’s largest wildlife survey and did something great for nature. Diagrama Foundation’s home for adults with learning disabilities, based in Orpington joined over half a million people who have been talking part in this survey for over 40 years.
Our residents first visited the shops to buy ingredients to make bird cakes and then hung them on the bird table in Cabrini’s garden. They then spent an hour counting the birds that landed in the garden and submitting the results online.
The results help the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) in a number of ways, to monitor trends, spot problems, understand how birds are doing and give them a snapshot of bird numbers across the UK. The Cabrini residents enjoyed their time with nature and also helping take part in this very important survey.
