Three Bromley councillors have spent the morning with residents at Cabrini House learning more about the care they receive and the activities they get involved in.

 

Councillors Julian Benington, Mary Cooke and Peter Fookes were given a tour of each of the homes where they met with residents and asked them about life at Cabrini House.

 

Michelle Dyne, residential manager at Diagrama's home for adults with learning disabilities, said: "There were all very interested in the work we do here. They were very keen to understand the nature of the care available here and details of the training our staff all receive to ensure they can deliver the best service possible.

 

"They chatted with some of our residents who were very excited to meet our guests. The residents also showed off their festive T-shirts which they had all been hand-painting.

 

The guests heard how the residents are accompanied on holiday every year, how they take part in local clubs, have jobs in the community, like to get involved with the cooking and have been looking after a variety of animals.

 

The councillors' visit was part of their work to understand the provision of care available in the London Borough of Bromley.
