Last week saw residents at Cabrini House, our home for adults with learning disabilities, organise their first ever Summer Fayre to raise money for new equipment at their home. It was a beautiful sunny day and the residents ensured there were plenty of activities to keep everyone busy and most importantly to have lots of fun!

There was a barbecue and cake stall as well as garden games like a Tiki bean bag target shooting and throwing wet sponges at Diagrama’s Chief Operating Officer Derek Milliken. Guests also enjoyed a raffle, tombola, music, the guess the sweets in the jar game, face painting, name the teddy and also find the treasure hidden on the pirate map. Residents also organised stalls selling books and bric a brac donated by supporters. The fayre gave residents the opportunity to meet our neighbours and the wider Orpington community which they gladly welcomed to Cabrini House.

The event was well attended and enjoyed by all. The day raised more than £300, thanks to kind donations from local businesses and supporters. Diagrama Foundation CEO David McGuire said: “The Summer fayre was a great success; the residents did such an amazing job of organising and planning all the activities to raise money for our planned multi-sensory room. A huge well done to our fantastic Cabrini residents and many thanks to all our team there for their support.”
