Diagrama Adopters share their journey for National Adoption Week appeal

16 Oct 2019
Diagrama is joining forces with adoption agencies across the UK to raise awareness of the need for adopters to come forward. New research shows that the South East has more than 2 times as many children awaiting adoptive families as there are adopters. The figures, from the national adoption information service, First4Adoption, reveal the region currently has 580 children waiting to be adopted and just 250 families approved to adopt.

Catherine Moore, Diagrama Adoption and Fostering Manager says, “This research highlights the ongoing and urgent need to find adoptive families for children who desperately need them. Adoption transforms the lives of those it touches and this National Adoption Week we’re asking anyone who has ever thought about adoption to find out more. Whether you’re married, single, LGBTQ or heterosexual, if you think you might be able to give a vulnerable child a loving home, please get in touch with us”.

To mark National Adoption Week, Diagrama adopters Nicky and Rupert have shared their experience in a new video which shows their journey to becoming a family.

Our team have also been attending a Department for Education Adoption event to share best practice in Fostering for Adoption.
