Members of the Lions Club of Clacton-on-Sea have treated residents at Edensor care centre to an afternoon concert of carols and Christmas songs to celebrate the festive season.
Friends and family were invited along to join in the event at Diagrama’s 50-bed care home for the elderly and enjoyed tea and mince pies with the residents.
Residential manager Alison Brown said: “The Christmas concert is a great way for our residents to feel included in the celebrations at this time of year. As many of them are unable to leave the home regularly the concert makes sure they don’t miss out on a chance to get into the Christmas spirit.
“Everyone loved hearing the songs – the traditional tunes often trigger wonderful memories for our residents and we saw a few tears of joy around the room from some people, which makes it all worthwhile.
“We’re very grateful to everyone from the Lions Club for giving up their afternoon to entertain us all and spread a little Christmas cheer.”
