Our Ambassadors

Diagrama ambassadors help spread the word about the vital work we’re doing, and why.

Meet Paul Jacobs GM

Paul Jacobs GM was serving as an Infantryman with the 2nd Battalion The Rifles when he lost his sight in an explosion in Afghanistan which killed two of his friends. He was just 20-years-old. As well as losing his sight, he was left with a traumatic brain injury and heavy scarring to his body.

Paul spent much of his young life in care, yet thanks to the love, family, stability and home his foster carer gave him, he has been able to go on to achieve great things. He hopes in sharing his story and highlighting the need for more carers in the UK, more people will come forward to foster and change a child’s life.

No stranger to a challenge, since losing his sight Paul has climbed mountains, trekked across Europe, run marathons, and fought in the boxing ring for charity. He has overcome incredible adversity to be where he is today and we are absolutely delighted to work with him as a Diagrama Ambassador.

Diagrama Ambassador Paul Jacob GM: "Fostering is an amazing opportunity to give love"

Paul spent his childhood in foster care and now wants to help Diagrama raise awareness of the current need for more foster parents. Paul Jacobs GM, who served with the 2nd Battalion The Rifles, was 20 when he lost his sight in an explosion in Afghanistan when two of his comrades were killed. With 100 children entering care every day there is currently a great need for new foster carers. Paul spent much of his young life in the care system and is hoping that the telling people about the importance of the good foster carers he had and how they influenced his life, will encourage more people to come forward to foster.
