The Essex Care Sector Awards: The Prospers 2019 took place on Tuesday 26th November at a gala dinner held at the Chelmsford City Racecourse. The awards are a celebration of innovative practice and outstanding achievement across the care sector.

Staff from Edensor, a 50-bed care home, in Orwell Road, Clacton-on-Sea, were delighted to walk away with a Highly Commended for 'Activities & Wellbeing' and Commended for 'Infection Prevention & Control Award'. The 'Activities & Wellbeing' Award looked for an individual or team who have taken a proactive approach to improving individual’s wellbeing regularly through meaningful activities that are person centred and creating an environment where individuals are engaged, stimulated and fulfilled. Our Diagrama activity co-ordinators and the Edensor team do just this. They work really hard to ensure Edensor residents enjoy as full a life as possible.

Individualised activity programmes are designed, always tailored to the resident’s own needs. This ensures everyone’s lives are as fulfilled lives as possible, no matter what their capabilities - and makes sure that those less mobile or bed bound are not left out from everything going on. Our Activities team is also extremely creative and develop lots of activities and experiences such as aromatherapy and sensory reminiscence baskets and organised lots of visits from community groups
