The event will be taking place on the 6th and 7th of November at the Park Plaza Riverbank Hotel, in London.
On the 6th and 7th of November 2012, Diagrama Foundation and the International Juvenile Justice Observatory (IJJO) will welcome delegates from all over the globe to its 5th Biennial Conference “Criminality or Social Exclusion? Justice for Children in a Divided World”.
Through keynote presentations, workshops, panel sessions and an extensive exhibition, the agenda will explore the themes of:
- Policy development for socially excluded children and young people in trouble; diversion and inclusion strategies
- Economic interventions, cost avoidance and value for money services
- Community and multi-agency interventions; social inclusion, crime reduction, alternatives to custody and custodial/decarceration programmes
- Effective practice; direct/individual work with children, parents and families
The Conference conclusions and recommendations will be presented to international institutions with which the IJJO holds formal status, such as the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations of the United Nations (ECOSOC), UNESCO, the Council of Europe, the European Commission through its Child Rights forum, the Fundamental Rights Agency and the European Economic and Social Committee.
